In 1998 Mambo borrowed the logo of a familiar brand of Australian matches and swapped its red headed emblem with another inflammatory red head, Australian nationalist politician, Pauline Hanson. Mambo donated $15 from the sale of each shirt to the National Aboriginal and Islander Skills Development Association (N.A.S.D.A.) a group whose whose special funding Hanson sought to end. By campaign’s end Mambo had raised $110,000

Shortly after, Mambo sent Pauline Hanson a REDNECKS t-shirt along with a photo of Mambo CEO, Dare Jennings handing over a cheque to Aboriginal senator, Aden Ridgeway in the hope that it would severely piss Hanson off. Over 20 years later and Mambo is still waiting on a reply. - Wayne Golding
